I must confess that I wavered for a long time when considering the purchase of 1Password, and now that I have, it’s one of the my most used. The reason for my hesitation was not that of price (there is a money back guarantee), but more of ensuring that my information was secure, and that I can safely sync this information across all of my Macs and iPhone. Agile Web Solutions’ 1Password application exceeds all of my expectations and needs. It has rapidly become one of my most used applications, specifically with the iPhone. Utilising Dropbox, I can sync all of my devices instantly and securely. It has a reliable backup feature that can be used with Dropbox, of which can be scheduled, or the odd manual backup can be accomplished quite easily. Agile is having a go with Beta with the Windows version currently, but I will wait to see how that spins out.
Another very nice feature of the application is that of a ‘diet’ software management asset tool, where one can populate many of the supplied fields regarding price paid, support, keys, attach Proof of Purchase files, and some simple free text memo fields.
Apart from all the functionality, I really don’t utilise the Go and Fill feature that takes one to a saved website, populates the login information, and Bob’s your uncle, you’re in. I am reminded many times that I am missing out on this brilliant feature, but I really don’t mind the added steps of simply typing in my credentials.
