For all my development online storage, sharing and syncing, Dropbox is by far my most important application. What the Dropbox founders and team have accomplished since 2007 is absolutely brilliant. I am able to sync files across all of my Macs, Linux servers and iPhone with just this application. More importantly, I can securely share my files with my friends, colleagues and clients. I had a proper look at Apple’s MobileMe, however, I needed to effectively sync large and small files between the various Mac, Linux, Windows and iPhone platforms.
Another nice feature about Dropbox is that I can create a small Truecrypt encrypted container that can be easily mounted. This encrypted container not only allows me to safely store all my sensitive files and documents, but makes available the the mountable Truecrypt container on each computer that I sync to.
With a new Dropbox account, you receive 2gb of storage for free, with optional increased storage at very reasonable rates.
