With the massive amount of technical development, testing and support that I do every day; the size, total and types of files increase continually for any given project. I required a fast and easy method of FTP’ing these files that is manageable, fast and reliable. There are many free FTP applications, and native FTP functionality built within Mac and Linux, but I required a more sophisticated tool where I can setup profiles for the sites I connect with, and a nice UI for navigation. That’s when I learned of Panic’s Transmit application for Mac. There is a small cost to this software ($34 USD), and the price is worth it I assure you. Although I have yet to scratch the surface with the potential of this application, I understand that the ‘Transmit Disk Feature’ will allow one to mount the connection within Finder, regardless if the Transmit application is running… very keen on giving that a proper go. The application has all of the features that allows for deletes, renames, and to duplicate files without having to exit the current window. It is absolutely brilliant with Dropbox or any mounted disc, such as in Truecrypt containers.
